Waipara Wine Village & Day Spa will be built on almost 16 acres of prime winegrowing land in the heart of Waipara, North Canterbury. Waipara is the fastest growing wine region in New Zealand, with over 80 vineyards covering more than 800 hectares of plantings, in a very popular tourism area within the Alpine Pacific Triangle and close to Hanmer Springs.
The Waipara Wine Village & Day Spa will be a total visitor, hospitality, conferencing, event and spa experience. It will also provide a focus for Waipara winegrowers to showcase their locally produced wines.
The Village facilities will include a luxury hotel complex, which will be managed by Accor International Hotel Group, under the Grand Mecure brand, offering a total of 132 rooms with 80 Hotel Suites and 24, 2 & 3 bedroom dual and treble key Villas.
Prices for the Hotel Suites and Villas range from the early $300,000's to $1.2 million (NZD).
The Village will also feature full conference facilities, food and wine appreciation courses, a restaurant and wine bar, an international alehouse, a luxury day spa, and interactive wine-tasting facilities.
The Day Spa will feature vinotherapy, a series of treatments fashionable overseas, using grape and vine-based products for health and beauty treatments.
The most recent addition to this fabulous development is the planned inclusion of a 9 hole Greg Turner designed golf course designed to start and finish around the resort. The course will have split tees so players can play a full 18-holes with different tees and approach angles. A Clubhouse, Pro Shop and Locker Room will all be included and integrated into the development.
Whilst the Hotel Suites and Villas are for sale the balance of the resort will be held as a long term investment by Latitude Group.
